1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow a site to remember your actions and preferences, keep you signed in, and help the owner understand how the site is used. 2. The cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These are required for the website to function. They keep you signed in to your student account, remember the contents of your basket, protect forms against misuse and carry your session through checkout. They are set by WordPress, WooCommerce and LearnPress. They cannot be switched off in our systems, and the site will not work properly without them.
Functional
These remember choices you have made, such as video player preferences or whether you have dismissed a notice.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and courses people visit, how visitors arrive at the site and where they run into difficulty. The reporting we see is aggregated and is used to improve the site and our courses.
Advertising
We use the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) to measure the response to our advertising and to reach people with similar interests. Cookies of this kind can be used to build a picture of your interests across different websites.
Embedded content
Some pages embed video from YouTube. When a video loads, the provider may set its own cookies. We do not control those cookies. Please see the provider’s own cookie and privacy policies for details.
3. Your choices
- Browser settings. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and lets you see which cookies are stored. Look under Settings, then Privacy.
- Google Analytics. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on from tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Meta. You can change what you see and how your activity is used in the Ad Preferences section of your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
- Advertising generally. youronlinechoices.com lets you manage advertising cookies from many companies in one place.
Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop sign-in, checkout and course access from working.
We are adding a consent banner so that analytics and advertising cookies are only set after you have agreed to them. Until that is live, the controls above are the way to manage them.
4. Changes to this notice
We review this notice whenever we add or remove a tool that sets cookies, and at least once a year. The date below shows when it was last reviewed.
