Terms and Conditions

These terms apply when you book a course, buy course materials or use this website. Please read them before you enrol. By placing an order you agree to them.

1. Who we are

We are Visage Dental Academy Ltd, and we provide examination preparation, clinical training and career support for dentists and dental professionals. Our full details are at the foot of this page.

2. How a contract is made

Your order is an offer to buy. A contract exists when we send you an order confirmation or open access to the course, whichever happens first. If we cannot accept your order — for example because a place has gone, a price was listed incorrectly or you do not meet the entry requirements — we will tell you and refund any payment in full.

3. Who can book

You must be 18 or over. Some courses are open only to people holding a particular qualification or registration; where that applies it is stated on the course page, and we may ask you to evidence it. If you book a course you are not eligible for, we will offer a transfer or a refund.

4. Prices and payment

  • Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies.
  • Payment is due in full at the time of booking unless we have agreed instalments in writing.
  • If we have agreed instalments and a payment is missed, we may suspend access until it is brought up to date, after telling you first.
  • We may change prices at any time, but a change will not affect an order we have already confirmed.
  • If a price is obviously wrong and you could reasonably have realised it, we do not have to supply at that price.
  • Course fees do not include examination fees, registration fees, travel, accommodation or equipment unless the course page says so.

5. Your access to the course

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the course materials for your own study for the access period shown on the course page. Your login is for you alone. You may not share it, sell it or let anyone else use it. Downloading, copying, recording, screen-capturing, republishing or distributing our materials is not permitted, and neither is using them to teach or coach others.

Where a course is delivered live, the timetable is as published. We may change a tutor, a room or the order of sessions where we need to; if a change is significant we will tell you and you may cancel and be refunded for the part not delivered.

6. Cancellations and refunds

Your right to change your mind, our cancellation windows and how refunds are paid are set out in full in our Refunds and Cancellations policy, which forms part of these terms.

7. What our courses are, and what they are not

  • We prepare you for examinations. We cannot guarantee that you will pass one, and no statement by us or by a tutor should be read as a guarantee of a result, of registration or of employment.
  • We are an independent provider. We are not part of, appointed by or endorsed by the General Dental Council, the Royal College of Surgeons of England or Edinburgh, the Care Quality Commission, any university or any examination board, and we do not speak for them. Their published rules always take priority over anything we teach.
  • Our teaching is educational. It is not clinical advice for a particular patient, and it is not legal advice. You remain responsible for your own clinical decisions and for meeting your own professional obligations.
  • Examination formats and regulations change. We update our material as quickly as we reasonably can, but you should always check the current rules with the examining body.

8. How you must behave

We expect courtesy towards tutors, staff and other candidates. We may remove you from a class or end your access, without refund, if you behave abusively or discriminate against others, share your login or our materials, disrupt teaching, record a session without our written permission, or attempt to interfere with the security of the website. Where the circumstances allow it we will warn you first.

9. Recording and confidentiality

Live sessions may be recorded and made available to candidates on the same course. We will say so before recording begins. You must not record, photograph or share any part of a session, and you must not repeat outside the group anything personal that another candidate shares in it.

10. Intellectual property

All course materials, question banks, mark sheets, recordings, images and branding remain our property or that of our licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers any of it to you. Work you submit as part of a course remains yours, and you allow us to use it for the purpose of assessing and giving feedback on it.

11. The website

We try to keep the site available, but we may suspend it for maintenance or because of matters outside our control. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. You are responsible for your own internet connection and equipment; the technical requirements for live sessions are on the relevant course page.

12. Our responsibility to you

If we fail to comply with these terms we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking the contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.

We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for any breach of your legal rights in relation to the services and digital content we supply.

We are not liable for examination results, for a failure to obtain registration or employment, or for business losses. Our services are supplied to you for your personal and professional development, and if you use them for any commercial purpose we will have no liability to you for loss of profit, loss of business or loss of business opportunity. Subject to the paragraph above, our total liability in connection with a course is limited to the amount you paid for it.

13. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. If such an event affects a course we will contact you as soon as possible, and if the delay is substantial you may cancel and receive a refund for anything not delivered.

14. Complaints

If something goes wrong, please use our Complaints Procedure. We would always rather hear from you than have you dispute a payment with your bank.

15. Your personal information

We handle personal information as described in our Privacy Notice and our Cookie Notice.

16. Other important terms

  • We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. We will tell you in writing and it will not affect your rights.
  • You may only transfer your rights or obligations to someone else if we agree in writing.
  • The contract is between you and us. No one else has any right to enforce it.
  • If a court finds part of these terms unlawful, the rest continues in force.
  • If we delay in enforcing a term, that does not prevent us from enforcing it later.
  • We may amend these terms. The version that applies to your booking is the one published when you placed your order.

17. Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you live.
